Golden State Renewable Energy (GSR-E) is a California based pure-play battery energy storage and solar PV project development company focused on behind the meter and strategically located front of the meter projects. JOB DESCRIPTION
GSR Energy is seeking an enthusiastic interdisciplinary Project Developer to join our team in the design and development of an agrivoltaic community solar project model. The Project Developer will help lead our community solar team to plan, design and implement community solar projects that bring affordable, clean energy to underserved communities. The Project Developer will be responsible for origination and project management of community solar projects, including host site relationship management, permitting, electrical interconnection, construction and commissioning. The Project Developer will coordinate vendor management, permitting, financial/budget reporting, incentive program management and internal communications for projects assigned to them. The position will be accountable for the success of projects under her/his assignment and will partner closely with GSR-E team members, external consultants and outside counsel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and facilitate the overall development process on behalf of GSR-E, including but not limited to relationship management with site hosts/landowners, completion of interconnection processes, permitting process through approval, prelim engineering and support for construction and project financing.
- Lead project origination analysis for new agrivoltaic systems and facilitate outreach to farmers and landowners interested in implementing agrivoltaic or community solar systems.
- Oversee individual development projects, including: budgeting and finances, project timing and planning, risks assessment and management, legal balance and exposure of the projects.
- Identify construction-related issues and conduct pre-construction analyses required for local permits, including value engineered civil and electrical work that meets host requirements and contract obligations at least cost.
- Manage engineering & construction vendors to develop and finalize construction scope of work and drawings. Lead responsibility for monitoring day-to-day progress on each site.
- Support interactions with Investor Owner Utilities regarding interconnection, metering and telemetry.
- Support internal approvals for project execution, including drafting or facilitating investment memos and projections.
- Other job related duties as assigned by GSR-E management team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline required. PE or EE degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years prior experience handling project management for asset deployment, including planning and execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with internal stakeholders (sales, engineering, budgeting/accounts payable) and external stakeholders (relationship management, expectation setting).
- Prior energy experience strongly preferred but not required. Sincere, well articulated interested in clean energy and grid resiliency is required.
- Candidate should be highly organized and self-disciplined. Candidate should have demonstrated experience in successful contract administration and commercial interpretation of legal obligations in vendor agreements.

HIRING DETAILS
Reports to: Managing Principal
Working Conditions: 80% of time is spent in remote office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project or Primavera), telephones and general office equipment. Occasional travel as needed to perform job responsibilities.
Hire Type: Full-time, with 90 day trial period to ensure mutual fit.
