CCSA Statement on Massachusetts Net Metering Caps Letter

The Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) – the nation’s first and only trade association for community solar – today released the following statement in response to a petition from 100 Massachusetts House members urging the Massachusetts House leadership to advance legislation to lift net metering caps as soon as possible. The statement can be attributed to Jeff Cramer, CCSA executive director:

“The petition from House members to their own leadership underscores the growing frustration over lost jobs and stalled economic development in Massachusetts. In nearly half of the state, not a single new community solar project has moved forward for an entire year.

We are very grateful to those 100 House members who stood up for energy and environmental progress and solar jobs today, and we urge the Conference Committee members to redouble their efforts to pass a bill that will raise the net metering caps and keep the solar industry strong. Let’s get community solar started again and help millions of Massachusetts residents finally get the access to clean, affordable solar they’ve been asking for.”
