CCSA Statement on Year-One of New Jersey’s Community Solar Pilot Program

Trenton, NJ – Following the conclusion of the first round of community solar applications in New Jersey, the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) released the following statement:

“CCSA congratulates the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) for the overwhelming response of applications to its first ever community solar pilot program. The overwhelming amount of applications received makes it clear that New Jersey is on the cusp of being a national leader in community solar and demonstrates the need for an expansion of the pilot in year two. An expansion of the program would increase equitable access to solar energy for anyone in New Jersey, helping to reduce energy costs and serve a growing customer demand for clean and affordable electricity. We look forward to working with the BPU as it refines the program and develops a long term, sustainable community solar market in New Jersey.”
