Coalition for Community Solar Access celebrates Pennsylvania House Committee vote on community solar legislation

Harrisburg, Pa. — The Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) today celebrated the passage of House Bill 1842, community solar enabling legislation, out of the House Consumer Protection, Technology and Utilities Committee by a unanimous vote.

“We are pleased to receive such emphatic bipartisan support behind this important piece of legislation,” said Matt Hargarten, Vice President of Campaigns for CCSA. “Today’s unanimous Committee vote reflects the widespread support community solar has garnered on both sides of the aisle and the important role it can play in an all-of-the-above approach to energy generation. We urge the full House to act quickly so we can stand up a program that creates family-sustaining jobs, provides economic opportunity for small family farms, and gives Pennsylvania families an opportunity to save money on their electric bills.”
