Coalition for Community Solar Access Statement on New White House Community Solar Initiative

Washington, D.C. Today the Biden-Harris Administration announced new initiatives to expand community solar access and equity to low-income households. Through a partnership between Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Energy (DOE), a Community Solar Subscription Platform will soon become available to households participating in the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), saving consumers money and expanding equity in the clean energy economy.

Following is a statement from Jeff Cramer, President and CEO, Coalition for Community Solar Access:

“We’re excited to see the White House double down on its commitment to community solar as a tool to lower energy costs for working families while creating good-paying jobs.

The new executive actions highlight just how versatile community solar policy can be to help states achieve their specific energy goals.

CCSA and its diverse group of members representing the community solar industry stand ready to deploy more projects so we can bring bill savings to more customers and empower every American energy consumer with the option to choose local, clean, and affordable community solar.”
