Statement on Massachusetts Governor Healey’s Supplemental Budget Proposal

Statement from Kate Daniel, Northeast Regional Director for the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA), on Massachusetts Governor Healey’s Supplemental Budget Proposal:

“We commend Gov. Healey for prioritizing critical clean energy siting, permitting reforms, and the authorization for clean energy procurement in her proposed Supplemental Budget.

These forward-thinking reforms are essential for Massachusetts to seize unprecedented federal funding opportunities. They are the result of extensive collaboration among diverse stakeholders, who reached consensus on the urgent steps needed to accelerate clean energy development while safeguarding local communities.

Now is the time for action. We urge the House and Senate to swiftly come to agreement and approve legislation to make crucial clean energy reforms this session. Any delay in passing these vital measures risks jeopardizing our ability to build the clean energy infrastructure required to meet both state and national climate goals.”
